We wanted to provide a short introduction to each of the makers, growers, and small companies whose products you'll find on our shelves. Most are local to the Hudson Valley or greater New York; a few come from further afield because they're simply too good to leave off.

A certified-organic sourdough bakery in Pound Ridge, NY, milling fresh
ancient grains — einkorn, emmer, spelt, and KAMUT — for breads that ferment
slowly and keep their flavor. Their bake-at-home loaves let you finish a fresh
sourdough in your own oven.

Appalachian Naturals

A Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts company making natural and organic salad
dressings using ingredients from local farms — milk, maple syrup, honey, and
peppers from their region. Founded in 2005 to bridge small farms and the
grocery aisle.

BRINS Jam

Small-batch jams handmade with whole fruit and fresh spices — no
preservatives, no artificial anything. Best known for their collaboration with
The Met, with flavors inspired by iconic artworks (Forbidden Fruit, Unicorn
Garden, Salted Concord).

Brooklyn Biltong

Biltong is a favorite with the crew.
It’s traditional South African answer to beef jerky, made in the USA
from 100% grass-fed beef that's marinated in vinegar and spices,
then air-dried for days instead of cooked. Tender, sugar-free,
and based on the founder's grandfather's family recipe.

Hand-poured beeswax candles made in a small studio in the Catskills.
Each set is dipped, twisted, and packaged by hand using pure beeswax, cotton
wicks, and natural dyes, fragrance-free, dripless, and delivered in
plastic-free packaging.

A woman-owned Italian specialty shop on Long Island that's been making pasta
sauces by hand for over 20 years. Their marinara starts with whole San Marzano
tomatoes, simmered slowly with fresh herbs. No sugar, no shortcuts.

Great Joy Family Farm

Yes that's New York-grown rice. This Pine Bush, NY family farm grows
Akitakomachi (Japanese-style), brown, and black rice using duck-assisted
weeding and zero pesticides. Founded in 2018 with a vision of natural, healthy,
sustainable land.

Horseshoe Brand Sauces

Hudson Valley neighbors, based in Rhinebeck, NY since 2008. Small-batch hot
sauces and barbecue sauces made with real peppers — never extracts — from
gentle Peach and Maple Cayenne up through the seriously hot Habanero.

Born from a sports tavern in Greenwich Village, where the founder's mother
Judy's three-generation family recipe became the house dressing. A delicate
blend of garlic and tarragon in sweet grapeseed oil. Works as a dressing,

Lady Joseph Bakery

Spanish artisan biscuits and crackers baked the same way since 1926, when
Josephine Bernaud opened her tea room in Haro, La Rioja, baking French-style
treats for travelers on the Haro–Bordeaux railway. Now in its fourth
generation, still using stone-milled flour, slow baking, and only natural
ingredients.

McGrath Cheese Company

Crafted right up the road in Hudson, NY. Two cheesemakers — Colin McGrath and
Mel Hunter — make every wheel by hand from local milk. Hootenanny is their
beer-washed, semi-firm classic; Victoria is the soft, bloomy-rinded cheese
named for Colin's late mother that earned a perfect score at the American
Cheese Society competition.

New Hope Mills

A Finger Lakes mill that's been making pancake mix since 1823. That's
not a typo. Now in its third generation of family ownership in Auburn, NY,
their gluten-free buttermilk and rustic wheat sourdough mixes are made with
unbleached flours and no synthetic anything.

New York Shuk

Handcrafted Middle Eastern pantry staples like harissa, za'atar, shawarma spice,
preserved lemon, matbucha, made by an Israeli couple in NYC working to keep
their Sephardic and Middle Eastern Jewish food heritage alive. Their
Signature Harissa is a treasured grandmother's recipe.

Norwegian Baked

Organic, plant-based knekkebrød (Norwegian crispbread) baked in Brooklyn from
a family recipe brought from Norway. Heartier than a cracker, packed with
seeds and whole grains. We think they’re great with cheese, soup, or smoked fish.

Partners Coffee Roasters

A specialty coffee roastery that started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2012
and built deep relationships with growers in Colombia, Ethiopia, Honduras, and
beyond. Every bag is roasted to order.

Potters Table Bakery

A small Catskills bakery making hand-rolled flatbreads and Good Food
Award-winning seeded crisps from organic ingredients. Started by friends who
love food, art, and pottery, every crisp is rolled and baked by hand.

Saratoga Olive Oil Company

A family-owned shop that opened in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2011 with a focus
on freshness. They source from each year's latest global olive harvest and
test every oil for polyphenols and quality. Over 60 varieties of extra virgin
olive oils and barrel-aged balsamic vinegars.

Sauce Up New York

Salsa macha and chili crisp made in small batches in NYC by Chef David, a
veteran of Michelin-starred kitchens. Layered with four Mexican chilies,
toasted nuts and seeds, garlic, and shallots. Smoky, crunchy, and built to
elevate just about anything you put it on.

A woman-owned, Harlem-based maker of olive tapenade and savory spreads,
launched in 2016 by Rebecca Montero from her own family recipe. The Beldi
Olive Tapenade with Garlic & Rosemary is the original built from oil-cured
Moroccan olives, fresh rosemary, and a secret blend of spices.

Syracuse Salt Company

A father-daughter team in Syracuse (yes, the original Salt City) drawing
brine from a well 280+ feet underground and slowly evaporating it into pure
mineral flake salt. No microplastics, no ocean. Salt City Flake is their
signature; the infused flavors (Black Garlic, Pinch of Umami) finish dishes
beautifully.

The Country Coop
Local egg producer

Farm-fresh eggs from a small local flock white, brown, and the prized blue
Easter Egger eggs. From happy chickens in Clinton Corners, local as it gets.

Tierra Farm

Certified-organic, employee-owned manufacturer of nuts, dried fruits, and
fair-trade coffee, located 20 miles south of Albany in Valatie, NY. They
started as an organic vegetable farm in the Finger Lakes in the 1990s and
still operate it today. Everything is roasted, blended, and packed in small
batches with no added oils or refined sugars.

small NYC kitchen handcrafting unusually beautiful curds. yuzu, passion
fruit, mixed berry, with no artificial anything. Bright, citrusy, and
exceptional on pound cake, scones, fresh berries, or straight off a spoon.

Vitsky Bakery

Right next door in Wassaic is a bakery we can’t stop visiting. A hyper-seasonal bakery run by Ariel
Yotive (formerly head baker at Troutbeck), with a menu that changes weekly
based on what's available from local farms (like us) featuring
sourdough loaves, cardamom brioche buns, focaccia and whatever
fruit is in season.

Wild Hive Farm

Just down the road in Clinton Corners, NY. Don Lewis began milling local
heritage grains in 2002 and has since helped revive grain-based agriculture
across the Hudson Valley, contracting with growers on hundreds of acres of
emmer, spelt, einkorn, and red fife. Stone-ground in small batches; nothing is
bleached, enriched, or industrial.
