Marching on!

Spring is in the air at the farm! The days are getting longer, the sun is shining brighter, and the tulips we overwintered in cold storage are ready for harvest. It’s been really interesting watching the crateloads of pale stems morph into beautiful green leaves and colorful flowerheads. It’s very exciting to see the farm come to life after a long winter. I am writing this on the last day of February and it is sunny and 42℉ and I am sitting outside watching Sage and our clowder of barn cats lounge in the sun.

We are excited to welcome back our returning crew members and introduce our new ones for the 2025 season. We are also happy to announce that we have a talented new farmer joining the team this month - be sure to welcome Justin Hova to Mairti as the new manager of our cut flower program. I am excited to work with this great team of experienced and passionate farmers committed to growing beautiful flowers and delicious fresh vegetables. We are also excited to welcome our very first farm baby! Cody, our amazing farm mechanic, became a father this February, to a lovely baby girl. This is Mairti’s first farm baby, and the first farm baby on any of Jenn’s crews of yore. A very exciting Spring, indeed!

With the change of the season, we've been busy cleaning up the farm and setting up our tools and workstations. It’s time to start preparing the space for the upgraded farm store, weeding all the flowers overwintered in the poly-tunnels, and getting all of the farm vehicles clean and ready for another year of hard work. We've also been sowing seedlings and the greenhouse is slowly filling up with trays of baby plants and happiness.

Specialty Tulip Bouquet

We're excited to announce that we had our first CSA pick-up of the year with Week 1 of our Tulip CSA. But all of our other flower CSA’s are still available. This is a great way to get fresh, locally-grown flowers curated into a handmade bouquet for five weeks during the flower season. We're also excited to start harvesting flowers for wholesale. We'll be supplying our flowers to local florists and shops, so keep an eye out for our blooms in your favorite arrangements!

Thank you for your continued support of our farm. We're so grateful to have such a wonderful community of customers and friends. We can't wait to see you all at the farm this season!
